Lydia Eva - Education Overview

The Lydia Eva offers the opportunity to experience the history of Great Yarmouth Herring Fishing industry on board the last remaining Steam Herring Drifter , having been fully restored with her fish hold fitted out as a museum.

Key Stage Compliance

The education program is aimed at Key Stage 2, 3, 4 . , but can be tailored to suit specific requirements .

Ships Visit

The visit is a structured tour of the ship with explanations of the specific work carried out by crew members at each location , with time for question and answers at the end .

Schools Visit

A visit to schools ,of costumed character (s) can also be arranged. We find this really engages the students and is most useful as a pre-visit activity

Other notes

Risk assessment forms specific to the Lydia Eva are sent for each visit .

To ensure maximum value for transit costs , visits can be arranged to coincide with visits to the Time and Tide Museum, the Nelson Museum and Heritage Houses while Lydia Eva is in Great Yarmouth.

Refer to our contacts page for our education contact who should be contacted for any education-related activity.
